BOULDERS

BOULDERS
Fabulous course with huge rocks all over the course that almost look artificial(one tee located on top of one of the rocks...veryh fancy clubhouse..Played with Jim and Maryann King on "busines(I stayed at the Pointe in the presidential suits courtesy of Phil Hughes who was the mgr at the time.

CANOA HILLS

CANOA HILLS
Short course, but interesting, primarily for the retirement community in the area..Played with Mom

CLUB WEST

CLUB WEST
Nov. 97: Desert course..well maintained. Played with Mike when we went to A State football game...A tourney for Cougs was on but we didn't know it. Lost to A State but that was the ;first Rose Bowl for the :Cougs in Jan 98 in a very long time.

CROOKED TREE

CROOKED TREE
This is a course in North Tuscon(Oro Valley) that Mom and I played with Ray Kish on our last day in the area in March 2014. Also played a game of "wolf" with this course with Foster, Bruce Embry and Ray Kish…great fun. Wide' open course that was a change from the cactus of Vistoso. Fairly flat and no water, but well kept and a good play for a reasonable greens fee($40).

DOVE MOUNTAIN

DOVE MOUNTAIN
Also located in north Tuscon and close to the Gallery courses... Past 6 years played the Accenture Match Play here. We played in January, 2013 while visiting Ray in Tuscon… we had a great visit over 4 days and much hot tub time. Ray's home on the 2nd hole of the North Gallery course... Nice pool and hot tub... Marvelous visit.

DOVE VALLEY RANCH

DOVE VALLEY RANCH
Sun City, Ariz: played the interesting course with Dick Mc Williams and Don..near where they lived in Sun City.

FRED ENKE

FRED ENKE
Fairly flat course with an almost reachable 1st hole (by Mac)..The girls (Wendy and Kathy) got lost in their golf cart between the 1st green and 2d tee...hopeless...Played with Kathy and Mac as soon as we arrived in Tuscon off the plane.

GALLERY NORTH

GALLERY NORTH
One of two Gallery courses in north Tuscon. Beautiful course with great views of Tuscon… very difficult. Played with Ray and Nathan Tyler (a young man that Ray sponsors on the Web.com Tour) If he places in top 25 this year (2013) he will be on the PGA Tour. He can hit the ball a country mile... On one 600 yard par 5 he hit a drive and then had a 258 yard shot to the green (all over water.)… He hit a 3 hybrid and hit the ball 20 feet from the pin....WOW! Course in great shape (Jan 2013) and much fun to play. Started with lunch at a fantastic clubhouse.

GALLERY SOUTH

GALLERY SOUTH
Played this several years ago with Dick and Ray...just before they played the Accenture Match Play on this course. This time it was just Ray and I....started with 3 pars and then it became more difficult. Had an 88. Immaculate course.

HERITAGE HIGHLANDS

HERITAGE HIGHLANDS
Played with Mike when we went to the Regional Finals for Gonzaga at NCAA's in Tuscon.A fun but pretty pricy course which we didn't play well, but thoroughly enjoyed..Zags won and went to the elite eight that year with last second tip in by Casey Calvary.

LA PALOMA

LA PALOMA
Played this course with the Zimmers and Utters(Fred had at least 10 balls in the ditch before he cleared the first tee. Wonderul scenic course beautifully maintained...Just off course is gone...too many "jumping choa" cactus to go out there.Snake on path that Wendy cleared with a 3 iron.

MCCORMICK RANCH

MCCORMICK RANCH
with Mom while in Phoenix on vacation... Very lush course with Palms everywhere. Can see the course from the highway leading to Scottsdale

OCOTILLO

OCOTILLO
Mike and I played this course when we traveled to Phoenix to watch the Cougs (Ryan Leaf) face the Arizona State wildcats in 1997. Lost to Cats and had to get out of the way after the game while fans torn down the goal posts and carried to the river---a tradition. One of the Coug few losses as they went to the first ROSE BOWL in January, 1998. What a thrill to be there with Fritz, Mary, Joel and Vicki Devries. Jack Westerman and the Leinwebers.... 50 yd line tickets via Ray Kish (Yea!) Perfect day against Mich State but lost in the end with the refs letting the clock run out with 4 seconds still on the clock and Leaf spiked the ball...not fair..Family in front had empty seat with a vase of Roses in it for a dad that passed away the previous fall..they gave me a Rose as I had always hoped to take my dad to such a game, but he had already passed away.

ORANGE TREE

ORANGE TREE
Played this course with Mom while there on vacation..Fun and scenic desert course with many palms around..Good greens and fast and worthwhile play.

ORO VALLEY

ORO VALLEY
Fun course in the desert that was not that pricey, but worthwhile..played with Mom.

PINNACLE PEAK

PINNACLE PEAK
Played this course with law school classmate Bob Winston and wendy's cousin Toys huksband, Rod that lived in the area. They both belonged to the course then..Both have moved on to other area courses(Bob and Joan moved to Sun City West, Phoenix). FUn course with a fair amount of water but relatively flat and a good play with good friends.

RANDOLPH NORTH

RANDOLPH NORTH
Played this course with the Macs..They play a Ladies PGA Tourney here..Fairly flat but plenty of water and a fun course to play.

RITZ-CARLTON, DOVE MOUNTAIN

RITZ-CARLTON, DOVE MOUNTAIN
Great course very tough. Amazing views of tuscon looking north. Played with foster Walsh and ray lush. Guests of ray. Tall cotton. Very long par 4's, many second shot 3woods. Large undulating greens. Very slick. Accenture Match play tourney played here a week ago

SADDLEBACK

SADDLEBACK
Also in the Oro Valley in north Tuscon. Played this course with Ray Kish day after we arrived in Tuscon. Wonderful day, on a fairly wide-open course with generous greens. Retirement community surrounds this course and cost was reasonable at $31 per round including cart. Course north of Tangerine on Oracle Road.

SILVER BELL

SILVER BELL
Very flat course that is not all that intereting...but it was cheap..Played with Mom and Macs

SKYLINE

SKYLINE
This private course is home to Dick and Carolyn Leon near La Paloma course. Played this course with Dick and Carolyn.. Mush of the course on a hillside…not all that long but very tight fairways and smallish greens. Clubhouse with all glass looks out south over Tuscon. Wasn't hitting driver well, but last hole hit two good 3 woods and sand wedge 10 feet away…missed the birdie putt…Short par 4 10th that is easy birdie hole if kept straight. March 2014.

STARR PASS

STARR PASS
Spectacular course SW of Tuscon. Played with the Macs for a time until started to rain and lighting...lost the girls. Great course and a fun play the rest of the way. Next 2d hole..Got on in two for a birdie..Saw fox run across fairway on No. 11.

SUPERSTITION SPRINGS

SUPERSTITION SPRINGS
Beautiful course worth playing again..good layout with much water and sand(now near where Chapmans make their home.

TUSCON NATIONAL

TUSCON NATIONAL
National PGA Tourney played here. Fairly flat but a good course. In 2014 ate dinner at the lodge with Ray Kish at Bob's restaurant.(Pork chops overdone).

VENTANA CANYON (Canyon)

VENTANA CANYON (Canyon)
played with Mac with Whitworth Bd member(Gerry). Great course that was thoroughly enjoyable.

VENTANA CANYON (Mountain)

VENTANA CANYON (Mountain)
Played with Dick and Carolyn Leon..Practice area 1 mile from clubhouse and saw a coyote on the way to practice. Well maintained..Memorable 18th with last shot over water with a waterfall backdrop..

VISTOSO

VISTOSO
This was a challenging course with very long carries over much cactus..It was only blocks from where we stayed with the Leinwebers in March, 2014. Played the course with Foster, Mom and Ray Kish and Bruce Embry. Well kept course and several water holes…saw a havilina on the 9th fairway. Didn't play well first round..too much carry, so moved to a little more forgiving set of tees and made it more enjoyable…Also had several breakfasts at open air restaurant by the 9th green…how delightful!! Course located in north Tuscon in Oro Valley just off Tangerine St.
